Primula auricula Ancient Society – beautiful flowers of red shading to orange; a little paler than ‘Piers Telford’. Named in honour of the world’s oldest gardening club, The Ancient Society of Florists (pre-1768). Bred by Ken Bowser from a ‘Sirius’ and Snooty Fox II’ cross in 1997.

Primula Auricula Andrea Julie - bright orangey red to light orange shading, flowers on short stems. Raised by Derek Telford and named after his daughter.

Primula auricula Bookham Firefly – vivid velvety crimson shading to a maroon edge. Offsets very freely. Raised by James Douglas in 1936.

Primula auricula Brown Ben - deep velvety crimson brown shading through crimson to pinky brown edged petals.

Primula auricula Elizabeth Ann - shaded from deep velvety maroon to maroon crimson, beautifully neat plant with one of the best gold centres. Bred by Jim Sherwood in 1974.

Primula auricula Galen – velvety dark orangey red browns are very lightly shaded, very distinct. Image not good, of old flower. Named after the first apothecary by Ron Cole (himself a chemist), who raised it from a ‘Forge’ x ‘Robin Hood’ seedling in 1970.

Primula Auricula Gay Crusader - vivid orangey red shaded to orange, a very bright plant named after a Derby horse race winner. Raised by Les Kaye from 'Rodeo' and 'Andrea Julie' in 1982.

Primula Auricula Kingcup - deep reddish brown shading to light gold. Bred by C.G.Haysom in 1944.

Primula Auricula Lee Paul - browny maroon shaded to dirty yellow. Bred by Derek Telford from 'Sirius' in 1990.
Primula Auricula Ling - velvety deep red shading to lighter red. Came from a batch of discarded seedlings from Les Kaye and given to Mary A. Robinson, who then propagated and distributed this one. Discovered a couple of years later that the name came from a broken plant label SEED / LING c 1987.
Primula Auricula Nickity - neat plant in shades of dull red to lighter red.  A seedling from 'Sirius' bred by Cliff Timpson.
Primula Auricula Pharaoh - velvety deep maroon to pale maroon shading.
Primula Auricula Piers Telford - shades of attractive velvety orangey browns. Raised by Derek Telford in 1991.
Primula Auricula Rodeo - bright orangey brown shading. Raised from 'Mrs E Goodman' and 'Verdi' seed.
Primula Auricula Sirbol - deep orange to sandy orange shading. Named from a combination of 'Sirius' and 'Bolero' c1990.
Primula Auricula Sirius - maroon purple shaded to cream, beautiful plant, easy to grow and offsets freely. Raised by Frank Jacques in 1979.
Primula Auricula Snooty Fox - deep orangey red shading to lighter red, beautiful bright plant. Bred from 'Andrea Julie' seed by Derek Telford in 1978
Primula Auricula Sumo - attractive gold to dark brown shades. Bred by Derek Telford in 1993.
